Her Face in Profile Still Far Away is the 3rd chapter in the Adachi and Shimamura manga. It was released in tankōbon format on 22 December 2016.

Shimamura and Adachi are playing ping pong together in the gym when Shimamura hears familiar voices coming upstairs. Hino and Nagafuji had found their hiding place and are surprised to see Adachi there as well, who is panicking to the side. Shimamura suggests they all sit down, rather than just standing and chatting. Nagafuji and Hino sit next to Shimamura, but Adachi is hesitant to sit down. After Shimamura asks Adachi to come on over, Adachi sits down a little ways away from the group.
Shimamura tries to figure out how Nagafuji and Hino found them, to which Hino explains how she saw Shimamura looking at a table tennis book at the bookstore. Shimamura then apologizes to Adachi for her slip up causing them to be found. Hino asks if Adachi and Shimamura are friends, which Shimamura agrees to. Nagafuji and Hino then introduce themselves to Adachi. Adachi promises to remember their names.

Hino brings out a bag of bread for them all to share. Nagafuji is surprised that they hadn't been caught before. Shimamura then asks Adachi which bread she would like, which she replies with whichever one she likes. While eating, Hino asks Shimamura if she'd like to meet the kid in the spacesuit, since they're pretty funny. Shimamura sees right through this attempt to get her to go fishing, and suggests Nagafuji go with her. Unfortunately Nagafuji has a club practice that day, so Shimamura reluctantly agrees to go fishing with Hino. Afterwards Hino and Nagafuji start playing ping-pong together, while Shimamura worries Adachi won't come back with these two invading their space.
The next day, Adachi never showed up to the gym. Shimamura considers going to Adachi's house, but believes she probably isn't there either. She returns to the bookstore where she saw Adachi waiting outside before, but she isn't there either. Just as she is coming to terms that she's likely to never see Adachi again, she is pushed out of the way of a bicycle. Adachi apologizes for not stopping in time, but Shimamura thinks it was on purpose though she is just happy to see her.

Adachi hands Shimamura a bag of cream bread, summer bread, and mineral water. Adachi was wanting to give them to her at lunch break, but didn't make it to school. Shimamura offers Adachi a drink of water, and Adachi explains how she is happy Shimamura didn't go home with her other friends, or else she'd've been unable to give her the food. Shimamura assures her she would've been able to give her the food even if her other friends around, but Adachi started to pout at that idea. Shimamura realizes Adachi bought lunch just for an excuse to see her, which makes her happy, but she is too embarrassed to ask Adachi about it. She assures Adachi they'll be able to walk all the way to her house and that she will make her a map.

On the next day, Hino and Shimamura left to go fishing in the pond behind the primary school. Hino gives Shimamura a fishing rod she bought from a priest at a flea market, that was likely just a branch painted black. When Hino opens the bait container, Shimamura starts shivering as she is scared of bugs, so Hino gives her some paste bait. While they're fishing, Hino tries to get more info about Adachi from Shimamura, because as a friend of Shimamura she wants to be Adachi's friend as well. Shimamura once again realizes she doesn't really know much about Adachi, besides that she likes to drink mineral water.
While they're fishing, Hino's spacesuited friend appears and introduces themselves as Chikama Yashiro. They explain that they came to Earth in search of their brethren.
