The Two's Hiding Place is the 1st chapter in the Adachi and Shimamura manga. It was released in tankōbon format on 22 December 2016.

Summary[]
Shimamura tries to go to the roof while skipping class, but discovers it is locked. She decides to try the second floor of the gym, as she believes it isn't used anymore. This is where she meets Adachi, who was sitting on the floor barefoot. Afterwards, they often find themselves doing the same thing and hanging out together in the gym.

To help pass the time, and because no one is downstairs, they decide to play ping-pong together. While playing, Adachi asks if Shimamura was in any clubs in middle school. Much to Adachi's surprise, Shimamura was really into basketball, often staying late practicing shots. They consider playing basketball, but decide it would be too noisy and their school uniforms aren't really suited for it. After playing for a while, they decide it is too hot to continue and take a break. While waiting, Shimamura tells Adachi that she is pretty, but flusters her. To which she starts flapping her skirt in an attempt to cool off. Shimamura tells her she is degrading their schools dignity, and they laugh it off.

Shimamura asks about lunch and Adachi asks for a water and a danish and promises that next time she'll go get the food. Shimamura doubts it as Adachi has said that before. Shimamura wonders if Adachi's lunch is why her skin looks so nice, as if water flowed through her veins rather than blood. Adachi asks Shimamura if she is going to class after they eat. Shimamura says she might, and asks Adachi if she is going home. Adachi is not going to class.

Shimamura reflects on how she hasn't ever asked Adachi on why she skips class, but enjoyed the two of them hanging out. They both agree that even though they enjoy playing ping-pong together, they'd skip gym class if they ever had to play it there. As lunch period ends, Shimamura goes to leave, though she notices Adachi struggling to grab her bag, which is just outside of reach. She playfully calls Adachi a sloth and runs off to class. At the bottom of the stairs, Shimamura wonders if Adachi comes to school just to see her with a smile.
